Words Fall Apart

I can wrap words around a mountain
My vocab wouldn't quail before
The onslaught of the Mongol hordes
Surrealists can't defy description
I'll weave a tapestry
of content form and implication

I'm quite articulate you know
I've a certificate that says so
I have one limitation though
Words fall apart
Fall apart

When I try to tell you how I'm feeling
Syllables all lose their meaning
Dialogue is hopeless babbling
Letters pointless scratching and
Words fall apart
Fall apart

Around you Oh

I often have a lot to say
My tongue is tireless on
the littlest of your attractions
And when my feelings become strong
I ride a wave of thoughts
That overflows in conversation

But when I'm talking with you
You thrill my thoughts into confusion
And I trip over my tongue
Words fall apart
Fall apart

When I try to tell you how I'm feeling
Syllables all lose their meaning
Dialogue is hopeless babbling
Letters pointless scratching and
Words fall apart
Fall apart

Around you oh

Notes

It's easy to write songs about depressing things, you can wallow about for as long as it takes to make the song do what you want. Writing a song that really captures the energy and happiness of a truly blissful experience is much harder.
